"I'm just fine," Ryou reassured her, taking to his feet.

Following suit, Deedlit brushed herself off and wiggled her ears back and forth. "Tell me, Bakura, how long have you been on this--what is it--ship?" Folding her arms across her chest, she eyed him closely. It was more of an idea how long it would be before she could return to Lodoss.

Ryou thought about it for a moment. Since he'd gotten here, he'd lost track of time. "Well if time runs here the same as on Earth, then approximately a year and a half?" He wasn't too entirely sure, however.

One year and a half. That was a long time.

"I see," she replied, lowering her ears. "You have friends from home here, don't you? It's important to have allies, especially in a place like this. Our allies make us strong and we can handle things we normally wouldn't be able to endure on our own."

"I do have a few friends here," Ryou admitted. They'd been a bit quiet, but he knew they were there somewhere.

She was relieved and her expression showed it. "Oh, good. You don't strike me as the type who'd do very well on his own." Then she paused, "Not that I'm saying you're weak! You just have a very peaceful soul. At least, that's how it feels to me."

Ryou laughed it off, rubbing the back of his moppy hair. "I do like to have the friends I've made in Domino."

And perhaps Deedlit had insulted him. She couldn't tell. She didn't dwell on it, though. "Domino... That's where you're from then? What sort of island is that?"

"Domino's a district in a very large city in Japan," Ryou explained. She must not have been from earth. After all that he'd seen here, this really didn't surprise him too much.

"A city? That is... like a town, or a village, correct? Bigger, perhaps?" Lodoss didn't really refer to anything as a 'city'. It was more like kingdoms, towns, and villages. "And Japan... That is a very odd name for an island." And so was Lodoss. And so was Marmon. She didn't have much room to speak.

Ryou thought for it for a moment. Her world was very different from his. "It's a really really big village. Thousands, sometimes even millions, of people live there."

She paused for a moment and then nodded slowly, "Oh... my... I don't know if even Lodoss has so many. It seems so small in comparison. And that does not overwhelm you?"

Ryou shook his head. "People are quite well spread out." He found Tokyo rather normal, with its large size and mass number of people.

It had to have been much bigger than her home. Had to have been. After all, if it was smaller, then he must have been distressed. He'd said they were spread out, though, and 'quite well' at that. It was a good indication that it wasn't as terrible as she'd thought.

"Oh," Deedlit sighed with relief, though she couldn't quite understand why it made such a difference to her. "That makes sense. You couldn't have so many people in such a limited amount of space."

"A limited space with that many people would definitely be very bad," Ryou agreed.

"Is it one large city, or a lot of smaller cities? I imagine there are different kingdoms and countries, right?" She lifted an eyebrow at him, considering that countries might be the same thing as provinces.

"Well Tokyo is more of a bunch of small cities turned into one," Ryou attempted to explain, "and Domino is one of those 'smaller cities'. There are lots of countries across the world as well."

"Ohhhh, I see," Deedlit replied with a rather broad grin. Except she sort of didn't. She supposed it was something she'd have to see with her own eyes. That wasn't likely to happen, though, so for now, she'd have to take his word for it. "Tokyo... That sounds like something to eat..."

Ryou thought about it, but he didn't see how Tokyo sounded like a food. Then again, he was more used to it being a city than a food. He shrugged. "I suppose it could."

"I think every name you've given me sounds edible. Japan. Tokyo. Domino. I would suppose, though, that to anyone not from my home would think Lodoss is a rather odd name in itself. The fabulous difference between those from your world and those from mine," she offered as a reponse.

Then she nonchalantly kicked at the snow, admiring the way it decorated her finely-worn boots. "You have snow in Domino then too?"

"In the northern regions, it does," Ryou replied. "Not in Domino, however."

That also made sense, Deedlit supposed to herself. The north was colder. Lodoss worked that way too. A little. She didn't see a lot of snow, but then, she never went places that really had snow.

"You've seen it before, though," she observed. "You are not so clueless as to not know what it is."

How long had it been since Ryou had ever seen snow? It had to be a very long time as he could barely remember it. "It's been quite some time since I've been around it." Or maybe he was just fabricating memories. Either was possible.

"Then it brings about nostalgia," Deedlit observed with a tilt of the head. This Bakura guy sure was interesting. Something else, anyway. After all, everyone on the ship was something else, including that Hatori Miki person she was staying with.

"Somewhat," Ryou replied. He found himself more nostalgic when he looked at his deck or duel disk, remembering all the fun times he had with his friends, than when he saw snow.
