"Yay! We can decorate with your pictures too, I saw the ones that you took of you a Sou-chan and they looked great." Kio leaned back against the kitchen counter, careful not to knock the glass he had set there off. He had been wanting to get a job but wasn't really sure where, and figured maybe he would ask at the petstore. Smiling and full of energy he looked at the clock.
He blushed at the mention of "Sou-chan" but he also smiled a bit. He could tell that Kio was warming up more and more to naming the new kitten "Soubi." He knew that they both missed the blonde in different ways.
At the mention of his other photos he smiled and bowed his head.
"I... um don't know if my memories are that good to actually hang, I usually just pin them up on my push-pin board." However Kio asked the ever important question. His ears perked up and he smiled. "Can we go pick him up now?" he asked, almost bouncing on his heels.
Kio tossed the scarf that he had on around his should and stood up beaming. He liked the idea of Ritsuka getting a cat, it would make him happier and Kio worried about him at times; especially with Soubi not there. Besides having a Sou-chan around would be nice. "Well then let's go."
"Yay!" Ritsuka was practically purring as he grabbed Kio's hand. "My jacket is by the door so come on come on Kio-san!"
Ritsuka had often debated over getting a kitten, and then Soubi had shown up and having him around was like an overgrown loving puppy. And then Soubi left. He wasn't sure what had hurt more, not having him in the beginning or having him leave without a word. Kio-san was still here though and he had a lot more memories shared with Soubi and Ritsuka had every intention of hearing those memories from Kio.
Now he was getting a kitten and naming it Soubi, if his fighter ever did return he could only imagine the amusement the other would have. He'd probably think something perverted too.
He pulled on Kio's hand over to the door, slipping his shoes on before he grabbed his jacket.
"let's go let's go!" he practically purred in his excitement to get the little kitten.
Being pulled along by Ritsuka, Kio made his way to the front door laughing. The child seemed really eager to get the kitten. Then again it was already past his birthday, and Kio hadn't had a chance to see him until today. Patting Ritsuka's head and ruffling his hair he laughed, "We'll be there soon, and then you'll have Sou-chan and me to keep you company."
He blushed but smiled, grabbing Kio's hand around the wrist and pulling lightly.
"Kio-san... do you think... Soubi will ever come back?" he asked as they exited the apartment and started heading for the stairs.
He knew that his plethora of psychiatrists would have a field day with him getting a cat and naming it Soubi after the blonde. The many books he had read suggested misplacement, highly dependent, need for routine. His doctor back home might have wondered why he didn't do it sooner when Seimei had died... or had been assumed dead rather.
Kio shifted the lollipop in his mouth from one side to the other, and thought for a moment. Soubi had a way of disappearing at times, but he had always managed to come back each time. After a few moments Kio smiled and laughed, "I'm sure he will be, we're best friends!"
Though Soubi had never really been gone this long. As the two made their way to the Olympic deck Kio kept smiling and laughing; also keeping an eye on Ritsuka. "Have you eaten anything yet Rit-chan?"
While Kio's reply eased only some of the pain in his chest he still felt that the reply itself was paltry and a way to comfort him at best. He sighed but shook his head. Kio knew Soubi longer, if not better, than Ritsuka did.
At the question about food his ears perked and he thought for a moment.
"Um... not since early this morning, I made an omelet." Which reminded him. "Ne ne Kio-san you're going to teach me how to cook right? Like nabe?"
Kio smiled and redirected their path towards some restaurant, "Then let's get something while we're out, I'm starting to get a little hungry too since I haven't had anything." Hearing his other statement Kio laughed, "I'll teach you how to make anything you want; and I give you the painting lessons too that we talked about."
Stopping for a moment he looked around at the different places and tried to figure out where they would go for lunch.
"When do you want to go pick out Sou-chan~"
At the mention of his other photos he smiled and bowed his head.
